CAERULEA is the third collection of works by Catherine Druken and Zoë Wyner. Like their earlier collaborations, CAERULEA brings to life reimagined iterations of folk imagery, drawing from their shared Ukrainian lineage. Inspired by the Delftware of the 17th century, Catherine Druken has infused Zoe Wyner’s ceramic works with signs of spring and simple domestic pleasures. The blue of CAERULEA furthers their mutual tendency to merge the old with the new; antiquities modernized. [Spring 2024]

BETTERPRESS LAB | Truth and Resistance: Letterpress Collaborations
Opening Reception: Friday, April 5th, 2024 | 6:00 - 8:00PM
Exhibition: April 3rd - April 20th, 2024
In 1932, Beatrice Warde wrote about the importance of the printing office. Today, this is equally true. In an era of “fake news” and “truthiness,” the voice of the artist is more important than ever to bring the realities of life to the people. BetterPress Lab is a unique environment in which artists can research how to express their ideas through creative scholarship. The collection of prints exhibited here reveals a deeper search for truth and a desire to resist in the face of corruption.
For the past 10 years, Francesca Colonia and Giulia Nicolai have invited international artists to collaborate with them at BetterPress Lab, a unique letterpress studio located in Rome, Italy. Truth and Resistance will feature these collaborations.

ALL THE WORLDS: Jonathan Pitts-Wiley, Jonathan Watanabe & Victoria Wolf

ALL THE WORLDS: Photography, Light + Vessels
Jonathan Pitts-Wiley, Jonathan Watanabe & Victoria Wolf
Opening Reception: Thursday, September 28, 2023 | 6:00 - 8:00 PMc
Exhibition: September 18 - December 21, 2023.
World’s Fair Gallery is pleased to present ALL THE WORLDS, featuring photography by
Jonathan Pitts-Wiley, earthenware vessels by Victoria Wolf and glass blown by Jonathan
Watanabe of Studio Watanabe. All three artists are working with light and holding,
but with wild variations in approach. Jonathan Pitts-Wiley’s fine art portraiture
and documentary photography pay homage to life, creating opportunities for the viewer
to wonder. Through his background in theater, Pitts-Wiley creates conditions for his
photographs in which people can experience authentic responses, making his images a
generous extension of his own history. These photographs are vessels of moments, of
individuals, and of lives. Pitts-Wiley creates such a stillness in his portraits that a
moment can absorb time— a small piece of a vaster cycle through which to attain presence.
Everyone— subject, photographer, and viewer— has the opportunity to feel something.
The [mostly] black and white photographs are complemented by Studio Watanabe’s
luminescent glassworks, a collection that not only filters and distorts natural
light, but, in some cases, is wired to emit its own; and Victoria Wolf’s elemental
ceramics, which hold in them as much a sense of place as they do a vacancy to be
filled. Please join us at WFG for the opening reception on
Thursday, September 28th from 6-8pm.
This event is free and open to the public.

DUST TWINS: Cybele Collins + Jesse Kaminsky
DUST TWINS: Cybele Collins + Jesse Kaminsky
Opening Reception: Thursday, November 17th, 2022 | 6:00 - 9:00 PM
Exhibition: November 17th - 28th, 2023
The paintings and sculptures in this show sketch out the connective tissue between living things in two and three dimensions. Earlier this year, after realizing similarities in images and approach, Jesse and Cybele discovered that they were temporal twins: born within 24 hours of each other into different counterculture communities.
Most twins share a womb and sometimes an ideology or a social sphere, but their matching DNA rarely tells the whole story. A twinning can emerge from a shared time and social cycle, a generational season of dust and sun. These epochs give us the friction of recognition: what is shared, and then, also, what differs. The DNA of all people is almost identical - slight differences in sequence create the wide variation that we see or imagine.
This twinning is an experience of identity through the senses, a recognition that we create a self from the pounding blood and light of our primordial substance. The spirit is born into an organism that creates form out of the magmic and undifferentiated flux of matter and energy. The spirit’s journey is to trace and recreate the endless possibility of connection.
This event is free and open to the public.
