World’s Fair Gallery is hosting a popup gallery and residency space entitled HOT HOUSE in downtown Providence. The space will be up and running from April 5 to June 15. We have a few residency spaces left to fill!

The space is at 233 Westminster Street and you would receive studio space and access in exchange for monitoring the gallery and keeping open hours. You must commit to a Tuesday to Saturday schedule from 10am to 6pm and be present in the space (though you are welcome to use the space outside of those hours). You will be responsible for the gallery during those hours i.e. welcoming guests, distributing price lists etc. in exchange for the residency space. The gallery will provide a desk, chairs and some storage space for the artist during their residency.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a new space to shake things up for a week or two or more. The space does not have running water in the space and that the gallery is below a residential space (no loud late activities, no crazy smells). The space is perfect for drawing, writing and other 2D media and we ask that applicants are 21+.

Lois Harada will be in the gallery for the month of April but we have six other week long slots that need to be filled with working artists. We’re looking to fill:

Session #3) May 7 – May 11

Session #7) May 28 – June 1

Email us at with a few sentences about what you’d plan to work on in the space and what week/s you’d like the residency for.
